Archie Marcell Hollingsworth Archie Marcell Hollingsworth, 93, of Amite County, died April 14, 2012, at his residence near Gloster. Visitation is 6 to 9 tonight at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster and 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church until services there at 11 a.m. The Rev. Zach Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Hollingsworth was born Dec. 10, 1918, in Amite County. He was the son of Lafayette Hollingsworth and Etta Jackson Hollingsworth. He was a retired truck driver with Herring Gas Co. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a Purple Heart recipient. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys Whitehead Hollingsworth; three brothers, James Bilbo Hollingsworth, John Leo Holingsworth and Edward Lavern Hollingsworth; and two sisters, Virgie Longmire and Lottie Jackson. He is survived by a daughter, Kim Marcelle Hollingsworth White of Gloster. Pallbearers will be Derrick Whitehead, Mike Johnston, Ronnie Johnston, Chuck Netterville, Jim Ratcliff and Billy Whitehead. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church or to the Baptist Children's Village.
