Norman Ancil Hollingsworth

Norman Ancil Hollingsworth left this world to begin his peaceful journey with God on July 4, 2015. Norman was known as “Butch” to his friends and family.

Norman was born May 27, 1940 in Tulsa, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Raymond Ross Hollingsworth; mother, Madie Irene Hollingsworth (McReynolds); sisters, Yvonne Hollingsworth and Darlene Hollingsworth Ivy; brothers, Raymond and Brady Hollingsworth.

He is survived by his wife Teru (Shimada) Hollingsworth; Children DaVonna Brown (husband Henry); Melody Schafer (husband Jeff); Susan Elder, Norman Moore and Katharine Moore; Extended Family 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and cousins; Step Sons Harley Cooper, David Cooper, and Calvin Cooper.

Norman had a flair for life and quite fittingly passed away peacefully on Independence Day. Most of his life was lived in Tulsa and he enjoyed his career as an inside salesman for industrial products. He always told his kids his favorite job was at Happy Company. He enjoyed trips to Hawaii with Teru, his sister Darlene’s black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day, bowling, the casino, country music and cars –– especially Thunderbirds –– his many pets, and was a huge Elvis fan.

Norman liked to make everyone laugh and feel at ease around him. He had an extremely kind heart and was loved by all who knew him. Even while battling with a disability in his later years he maintained a huge inner strength, never lost his faith, and was baptized and became a member of the Church of Christ. “Butch” will be truly missed and we are left with many fond and loving memories.
